Patricia Hearing, age 83 of Park Village Health Care Center at Dover and formerly of Gnadenhutten, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, in Union Hospital at Dover following a brief illness.A daughter of the late Clyde Clinton and Treva Walker Rogers, Pat, as she was known to family and friends, was born at Akron, Ohio on October, 11, 1927. She was a 1946 graduate of the former Midvale High School and met the love of her life, Orrin C. Hearing, Jr. while attending a dance at Tuscora Park. The couple married on June 5, 1949 and reared three children, sharing their lives together which lasted 56 years until Orrin’s passing in March of 2006.Professionally, Pat worked for many years as the treasurer for Indian Valley School District and Buckeye Career JVS where she retired in 1990. In her spare time she found great joy in traveling and spent more than 50 years singing in the church choir at the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Additionally, she spent 59 years as an active participant in a women’s card club made up of close friends. Pat leaves behind a cherished family; a daughter, Linda (David) Wright of Gnadenhutten; two sons, Carl (Vicki) Hearing of Monroe, Wisconsin, and Brian Hearing of Chicago, Illinois; a brother, Bill Rogers of New Philadelphia, OH, and a special friend, Willard Roby, of Sherrodsville.Five grandchildren, Steven Wright, Amanda Wright, Matthew (Amber) Hearing, Sarah (Jim) Scartz, and Ashley Hearing, an expectant great-grandson, two nephews and one niece complete the family.In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Rogers and a niece Judy Rogers.The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2011, from 6:00 â?? 8:00 p.m. and again one hour prior to services on Saturday, April 23, 2011, from 10:00 â?? 11: 00 a.m. in the Gnadenhutten United Methodist Church. Pastor Gregg Kelly will lead a funeral service celebrating Pat’s life in the church on Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the Gnadenhutten Clay-Union Cemetery.
