Patricia Cross

Patricia “Pat” Cross, age 74, of Schoenbrunn Health Care at New Philadelphia, and a longtime resident of Midvale and Barnhill, passed away early Saturday morning, July 4, 2009. Born at Barnhill, September 23, 1934, Pat was a daughter of the late Stephan L. and Wanda Edie Russell. Pat was a homemaker for most of her life, and was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Midvale VFW. On December 15, 1951, she married the late Thomas L. Cross. The couple observed their forty-third wedding anniversary prior to his death in February, 1995. Together they operated the former Tom & Pat’s Grill for nearly two decades. She leaves behind a family that includes a daughter; Charleen (husband, Brian) Beans of Tabor Ridge, and five sons; Thomas Lee Cross Jr. of Lake Milton, Ohio, Ricky Allan Cross of Midvale, Steven Nichola (wife, Jean)Cross of Barnhill, Dennis Eugene Cross of Leesville, and Brian Douglas (wife, Robin) Cross of Midvale.Nineteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren also survive. A sister; Carol Endlick of New Philadelphia, and two brothers; Jim Russell of Tappan, and Danny Russell of South Carolina, complete the family. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Cross is preceded in death by brothers Robert, Ronald, and Myrel Russell.Friends are invited to call Monday, July 6, from 2-4 and from 6-8PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor James Houston will lead a funeral service for Mrs. Cross Tuesday morning at 10:30 in the funeral home’s chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Burial Park.
