Patricia A. Tornabene, age 73, of Dover, died peacefully early Thursday morning, September 20, 2007, in Union Hospital. Born at the Bronx of New York City on November 14, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Chadwick Milligan. Pat graduated from a parochial high school in New York and went to work as a clerk in a law office. On February 4, 1956, Pat married Samuel Tornabene in Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church at the Bronx. Together they settled at Dover, and Sam operated Tornabene’s Drive Thru at the original location at downtown New Philadelphia. Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, was a former member of the New Philadelphia Elks and the club’s ladies auxiliary, but above all else, was deeply devoted to her family. Pat was a loving mother to Mary Anne Grimes and her husband Douglas of Dover and to Terry Tornabene, and his wife Tami, who also reside at Dover. Anyone who knew Pat also knew the activities and accomplishments of her grandchildren. Pat proudly shared the latest news on her grandchildren, and delighted in learning more about their lives. She’ll be sadly missed by her granddaughter Sami Jae Grimes and her husband Nick Pribich of Silver Spring, Maryland, Garth Grimes of Dover, Seth and his wife Michelle Grimes of New Philadelphia, Sam Tornabene and Cassie Tornabene both of Dover. A great grandchild, Brysen Grimes (son of Seth and Michelle) as well as a brother Robert and his wife Cel Milligan of Santa Monica, California, and an aunt, Gertrude Centrone of Bolivar complete the family. Pat will be remembered for her strong, independent spirit, for her desire to see her family thrive, and for the example she set in putting the needs of her family as her top priority. She is now in a better place Â? reunited with her husband Sam who died ten years ago on March 13, 1997, following forty-one years of marriage. Monsignor George J. Schlegel will Celebrate Mass of Christian Burial Monday morning at 10:30 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial, alongside her husband, will follow in Calvary Cemetery, New Philadelphia. Those traveling to the cemetery will meet at the church to form the procession. To keeping with Pat’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
