Patricia A. Green, age 73, a lifelong resident of New Philadelphia, O., passed away Friday, January 23, 2009 from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.Born July 31, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Veda L. (VanFossen) Mason.Patricia attended school in New Philadelphia and received her RN nursing degree at the Massillon City School of Nursing. She loved her nursing career at Union Hospital, Dr. Phillip Doughten’s office and the Tuscarawas County Health Department.She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Patricia was also very loyal to the Otterbein United Methodist Church, the county 4-H program, Fairfield Grange, and The Tuscarawas County Rabbit Breeders Association.Patricia is survived by her brother, Vernon (wife, Venette) Mason of Dover; her daughter, Deborah (husband, Marvin) Brown; her son, Duane (wife, Danette) Green; four grandchildren, Neal (wife, Suzette) Brown, Karen Brown, Travis Green, and Trisha Green all of New Philadelphia; and her ex-husband, James Green of Kimbolton.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian Brown. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 26 at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Patricia’s life will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. with The Rev. Kelly Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Holmes Methodist Church Cemetery.Following the committal service, Patricia’s family wishes to invite guests to join them in the Geib Family Center adjacent to the funeral home for refreshments and fellowship.The family requests memorial contributions be directed to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 156 Beaver Ave. NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
