Ora Jean Peterson

Ora Jean Peterson, 72, of Walnut Hills and formerly of Wooster, died Thursday, March 8, 2007 in Walnut Hills Nursing Home following an extended illness.A daughter of the late Jacob and Lorena (Friel) Shinaberry, Ora Jean was born January 28, 1935 at Uhrichsville, OH.Ora Jean retired from Wooster Community Hospital in 1986 where she worked in the housekeeping department.She is survived by her loving husband, Dale Peterson, whom she married on September 24, 1977; five daughters, Lorena (Chuck) Smith of Mt. Vernon, Shirley Brian of Wooster, Barbara Steiner of New Philadelphia, Sara (Rob) Miller of Wooster and Helen (Harold) Rogers of Glenmont; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and eight sisters, Margarette (Jim) Jackson of New London, Iowa, Madeline Horstman of Bowerston, Carol Johnson of Dennison, Janet (Dick) Hindman, Edith (Walter) Leggett of New Philadelphia, Ardith (Sam) Taylor and Joyce (Ray) Prall both of New Philadelphia and Phyllis (Ronald) Bower of Dennison.Ora Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Kenneth Haver; one sister, Faye Clouse and one brother, Robert Shinaberry.Family and friends may call on Sunday, March 11, 2007 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Ora Jean’s life will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Michael officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
