Ollievia “Kathy” Frasier West, 50, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully Saturday morning, February 14, 2004 at Union Hospital in Dover. Born in Akron, she was a daughter of Maurine Cole Frasier and the late William E. Frasier. In 1971, Kathy graduated from New Philadelphia High School at the age of 17. She received a full scholarship to the American University where she achieved her undergraduate degree in criminal justice. Later, she went on to receive her master’s degrees in business administration and clinical social work. She remained in Washington, D. C. until moving home a few years ago.She is survived by her son, Joshua West, of Washington, D. C.; her mother, Maurine Frasier; sisters, Barbara (Calvin) Schwartz and Sue (Mark) Ball; brothers, Ronald Frasier and Bruce (Donna) Frasier, all of New Philadelphia; nieces and nephews, Fred McAbier, Ron (Corrine) McAbier, and Bryan (Sue) McAbier; Nathan and Ryan Frasier; Christopher (Keely) Frasier and Alea Frasier; Stevie Frasier Little; Chastidy Frasier and Brittany Ball; grand nieces and grand nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Lee Frasier at age 25, in 1985.Friends may call at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home on Monday, February 16, 2004 from 4:30 to 6:30 PM with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Rev. Jeffrey R. Gerber and Jill Lovett of the First United Church of Christ will officiate. Interment will be private.To honor her life, contributions may be made to the organization she volunteered her time and talent to for many years, The American Red Cross, 113 W.
