O. Jerome MossDoverO. Jerome Moss, 74, of Dover died Wednesday morning, October 3, 2007, in Union Hospital at Dover.Born August 21, 1933, at Mud Fork, West Virginia, he was a son of the former Amos Greeley and Eunice Sears Moss. Jerome was a truck driver for more than 40 years. During his career, he was affiliated with the former Alsco-Anaconda for 22 years prior to retirement. He also drove for the following companies: Jeff Weigand Trucking, Harry Baker Trucking, and Lee Custer Trucking. His first job was in the Midvale Mines. He was a strong union man affiliated with Teamsters Local 92 at Canton. Jerome will be remembered by his family as a quiet, hardworking man. He liked “older” Country western music, such as Johnnie Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Patsy Cline. He is survived by his wife, Betty, whom he married on September 28, 2006, after a courtship of 13 years; his children: Patricia (William) Jones, Thomas (Darla) Moss, Rose (Mike) Caris, Sherry (Dirk) Kimble, John (Cindy) Moss, Lori (Eric) Sickafoose, Jackie Magill, William (Penny) Dreher, and Becky (Dennis) German; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Jarrite (Pat) Moss, Dale Moss; two sisters: Dola Jean (Dale) Eckert, and Mary Lee Brannon.Jerome was preceeded in death by his parents, Amos Greeley and Eunice Sears Moss, and a brother, Woodrow D. Moss.Friends are invited to call Sunday, October 7, 2007, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating the life of Jerome Moss will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Lester Stephens officiating.
