O. Geraldine Brandon

O. Geraldine Brandon, age 88, of Dover, died peacefully Christmas Eve in the company of her daughter Patricia, and grandson Matt. Born at Kirkersville, O, May 30, 1916, she was a daughter of the late William Edward Wiswell and Orpha Elzoria Wells. Geraldine spent more than seven decades as a resident of Thornville, O. where she was a fifty year member of the Order of The Eastern Star. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a teller in the Peoples Bank. On October 16, 1934, she married Merwin D. Brandon. The couple spent more than 57 years together before his death in January, 1992. She leaves behind a family that includes her daughter; Patricia Gross of Dover, her son; Donald R. Brandon of Thornville, grandsons; Matt Gross of Georgetown, KY, Mitch Brandon of New Orleans, LA, Michael S. Brandon and Bo Michael Brandon both of Thornville, Micky L. Brandon of Utah, granddaughters; Tiffany A. Dupler, Brieanna Brandon and Bridget Brandon all of Thornville, a sister; Ocie Johnson of Kirkersville, O, and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, deceased family members include a son; Gerald Merwin Brandon, a brother Russel E. Wiswell and sisters; Esther Lightfoot and Rachel Grove. Cremation will be conducted at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.The Rev. Glen Shedlock will host a celebration of Geraldine’s life in the Chapel of the funeral home Monday at 7:15 PM. Eastern Star Services will begin at 7PM. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM.
