May 20, 1952 — August 29, 2014

Norval Lynn Cole, II, age 62, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly, Friday, August 29, 2014 in his residence.

Best known as Lynn to his family and friends, he was born at Dover, Ohio on May 20, 1952 a son of Norval L. Cole and Helen (Knox) Mowrer both of New Philadelphia.

A 1970 graduate of Dover High School, Lynn entered into the United States Army following graduation. Professionally, Lynn was a mechanic and had the ability to look at just about any problem and fix it to working condition. As a “jack of all trades” Lynn worked for many individuals and friends throughout the years as a handyman.

His hobbies included playing darts, shooting pool, and being an ever faithful fan of the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed socializing with his friends and sharing stories at several area clubs. Above all, however, Lynn loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Lynn is survived by his former wife and mother of his four sons, Laurie Cole of Cocoa, Florida; his sons, Thomas Cole of Tuscarawas, Norval L. Cole, III of Las Vegas, Nevada, James (Karen) Cole of Beloit, Wisconsin, and Bryan (Chansonay) Cole of Charleston, South Carolina; his grandchildren, Danielle, Jacob, Jonah, Chelsea, Bryanne, Bryan, Chaela; and his great-granddaughter, Ava.

Completing the family are two sisters, Sandy (Ty) Holloway and Barbara Biddle all of New Philadelphia, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at DB’s Saloon, 2397 State Route 39 New Philadelphia. Cremation care is being handled by Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
