Norma Ricklic of New Philadelphia received her wings on Sunday April 17, 2016. Norma passed away peacefully in Texas under the loving care of her son Eric and his wife Tammy.
Norma was the youngest child born to the late Mario Menapace and Sylvia (Donati) Menapace Hostetler in Old Town Possum Hollow.
Norma married Leonard Ricklic on July 7, 1950 and celebrated 55 years of marriage prior to Leonard’s passing on March 24, 2006.
Norma worked for the Tuscarawas County Court House and then went on to The Ohio Department of Transportation, where she remained for 35 years of service. Norma was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and New Philadelphia Elks Lodge #510 which became her family after her husband’s passing. Norma was an exceptional baker and cook who loved to feed her friends and family.
Norma is survived by three children, Timothy Ricklic, Kristen Basiletti of Dennison, Ohio, and Eric Ricklic of Texas, along with numerous grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Norma was preceded in death by her stepfather, Herbert Hosteler; and siblings, Joseph Menapace, Mary Conconi, and Irene Pizzini.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Linn Hert Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia, Ohio. A funeral service in honor of Norma’s life will be celebrated by Father Jeff Coning on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the funeral home’s chapel at 11:30am with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia.
