Norma Lucille Troyer

Norma Lucille (Murphy) Troyer, beloved wife, mother, and sister, passed into glory on Monday, May 5, 2014 in Schoenbrunn Healthcare Center at New Philadelphia.

She was born October 4, 1936 to Raymond J. & M. Jeannette Murphy in New Philadelphia, Ohio. A beautiful, fun, and ornery woman, Norma married the love of her life, Loris Dale Troyer on June 26, 1959 and they raised three children of whom they were very proud; Trent (Tammie) Troyer of New Philadelphia, Tami (John) Cunningham of Columbus, OH, and Trevor (Andrea) Troyer of Dublin, OH.

In addition to her three children, Norma is survived by her husband, Loris; brother, Jim (Ruthann) Murphy; sister, Sunday (Ron) Miller; grandchildren, Caitlin, Zach and Mark Troyer; Ben and Michaela Cunningham; Shae, Austin, Samuel, and Avery Troyer.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joan Sulzener; and grandson, Andrew Nathan Troyer.

Norma was a 1954 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, was the 1953 Rose Queen, and also a majorette. As a devoted wife and mother, she and Loris raised their family while she worked at a variety of places including Miller Studio, K-Mart, as an Avon Representative, took in ironing in the home, and then, as an antique entrepreneur later in life, she combined her love of garage sales into a business within Riverfront Antique Mall in New Philadelphia.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating Norma’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

Friends are invited to the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, following the committal service where a meal will be shared.
