Norma Lee Ford Blaylock

Norma Lee Ford Blaylock, 93, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Frank ad Stella (Keller) Foster, Norma was born September 1, 1922 at Advance, Missouri.

Norma graduated from Advance High School and then graduated from Cape Business College.  In her younger years she worked as a dental assistant.  She then retired as a bookkeeper for Internal Medicine Physician Office at Cape Girardeau after 27 years of services.  Norma relocated to New Philadelphia in 2003.

She was a member of First Cape Assembly of God in Missouri as well as a member of Life Way Church at New Philadelphia.  Norma was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star and she had a passion for supporting the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

She is survived by two sons and their wives, Tom and Vicky Ford of Raymore, Missouri and Jim and Wendy Ford of New Philadelphia, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Rita Ford of Alton, Illinois; her grandchildren, Jay Ford, Melissa Everett, Terry Ford, Kim Riman, Tanya Drehle, Derek Abernathy and Jill Allen; her great grandchildren, Alexandria, Brandilyn and Cierra Autery, Khristianna and Kordell King, Logan, Aaron and Dillon Ford, Alyson McKenna, Hunter Drehle and Tiffany and Tyler Riman; two great-grandchildren and a faithful friend, Doris Deibel.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jack Ford; her second husband, Vincent Blaylock; a son, Jerry Ford and two infant siblings.

In keeping with Norma’s wishes, cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.  The family will host a memorial service in Life Way Church at New Philadelphia on Thursday, March, 31, 2016 with Pastor Larry Fletcher officiating.  The family will greet guests from 10:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church.  A luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.  A graveside service will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Advance, Missouri at a later date.
