Norma J. Leggett, 82, of New Philadelphia, left us on August 18, 2022.
Born January 23, 1940 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Patrick Snyder and Marjorie Mae (Meiser) Snyder.
Norma began her education at Sacred Heart Elementary and graduated from St. Joseph High School. Professionally, she worked for several companies before retiring from Tuscarawas County Job and Family Services.
After retirement, Norma volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was a greeter at Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member.
Prior to her decline, she enjoyed participating in the Silver Sneakers at the YMCA and eating breakfast at Dee’s Restaurant with her friends. She also loved wintering in Florida and trips to Myrtle Beach.
Most importantly, Norma loved her family and hosting family birthdays and get-togethers. She also enjoyed the great-grandsons’ sporting events.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Leggett of New Philadelphia; her daughter, Beth (Tom) Swisshelm, of Stone Creek; a granddaughter, Megan (Tyrone) Brannon; a grandson, Nathan Swisshelm of Stone Creek; 3 great-grandsons, Collin Swisshelm, and Cooper and Dustin Brannon, all of Stone Creek; her sister, Elizabeth (Fred) Devore of Dover; nephews, Mark and James Snyder, and Kevin Devore; and great-nieces and great-nephews whom she loved dearly; stepchildren, Cherie (Mark) Adams of Pittsburgh,
Donnie (Kelly) Leggett of Lancaster and Rod Leggett of New Philadelphia; and her loving pup, Mollie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Julie Lab; her first husband, Joe Lab; brother, Jim Snyder; niece, Kathy Brinkerhoff; and nephew, Bob Espenschied.
Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Ave, Dover, on Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 3 to 5 p.m. A service will be held on Monday in the funeral home beginning at 11 am with Pastor Dan Legg officiating. Entombment will be in Dover Burial Park.
