Norma J. Gray, 74, of Uhrichsville, died Friday, February 2, 2007 at her home.Born September 16, 1932 in Wolf, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Lucinda Mae (Mizer) Ellwood. Shortly after birth, her family moved to Stone Creek where she resided throughout her childhood. After completing high school, Norma worked at Nichols Bakery and other various bars throughout the community as a bartender. If you asked her, she was a homemaker first and foremost. She spent much of her time tending to her children’s needs and once she became a grandmother and great-grandmother, she found a new love for them.Norma’s hobbies included crocheting, playing poker and Dominos, and of course playing with her grandchildren.Her children include, daughters, Tammie (Ron) Flesher and Donna Gray, both of Toronto, O., and her son, Eddie Spencer of Uhrichsville; one step-son, Myrle Gray of Uhrichsville; six grandchildren, Kevin, Candy, Dawn Marie, Angel, Donald, and Lindsey; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, the late Donald Gray who died in 2002; her sister, Laura Fillman of Port Washington; and two daughters, Jeannie Spencer and Geneva Gray.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Friday, February 9, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Following visitation, cremation will take place and inurnment will follow in Stonecreek Cemetery.Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and view an online memorial by visiting the funeral home website.
