Norma I. Bresson, a resident at Park Village at Dover went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 11, 2024. The sweetest woman in the world to all who knew her, was a dedicated woman of faith, she longed for the day to be with Him, her parents, and her beloved husband. She always said do not mourn my death, celebrate it because I will be with Jesus!
Born in Noble County Ohio on March 18, 1941 to the late Audry Frances (Audrey) and Charles J. Crum, Norma graduated from Canton South High School in Stark County. Norma retired from Belden Brick in Canton, Ohio. While living in Canton until 2011, Norma along with her husband, the late James Bresson whom she wed on March 27, 1982, attended Family Faith Church at Canton where they served as greeters.
Norma is survived by her only child, Janet (Mike) McConnell; 2 grandchildren, Julie (Scott) Treherne and Jason (Rachelle) Gibson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Norma also had two bonus children by marrying Jim, John Bresson of Honolulu, Hawaii and Linda (Craig) Borgstede of Covington, Louisiana; grandchildren, J.T. (Megan) Bresson, Tabatha and Savana Borgtede; and 2 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, James; father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Mary Starcher; and brother, James E. Crum.
She embraced the teachings of her faith with humility and grace, serving as an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering faith provided her with strength and solace during the most challenging times, and she shared this steadfastness with those around her, offering comfort and support when it was needed most.
We celebrate the legacy she leaves behind. She has left an incredible mark on our family, and her memory will serve as a constant reminder to live with compassion, kindness, and unwavering faith.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 5 to 7 p.m. A service celebrating Norma’s life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Lisa Meese officiating. Burial will be in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Coshocton County Humane Society, 499 Downtowner Plaza, Coshocton, OH 43812.
