Nicholas Lee Winters

Nicholas Lee Winters, age 38, of New Philadelphia died Friday, October 12, 2018.

Born on May 12, 1980, in Massillon, Ohio, Nick is the son of Thomas K. and Cathy A. Border Winters of Dover.

Nick was a 1998 graduate of Tusky Valley High School and furthered his education at the University of Toledo. He was employed by Marlite at Dover and later with Greer Steel at Dover.

A passionate golfer, Nick used any opportunity he could to be on the golf course. He often aspired and talked about the possibility of going pro and most recently had won an amateur tournament at Zoar in which he took first place in the third flight of play. He loved animals and music and being with his close friends and their families.

In addition to his parents, Nick will be deeply missed by his sister, Kimberly (Robert) Brothers of South Lyon, Michigan; two nephews, Robert Brothers III and Brayden Brothers; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Border of Dover; his paternal grandfather, Kenneth Winters of New Philadelphia and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Nick was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Border and his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Winters.

The family will greet guests during a memorial visitation on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 5-8 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Nick’s name be directed to NAMI of Tuscarawas County c/o ADAMHS Board
