Nettie I. Miller

Nettie I. Miller, 93, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024 in Park Village Southside at New Philadelphia, following a period of declining health.

Born at Pataskala, Nettie was the daughter of the late Shelly and Matilda (Gornall) Yates and had dedicated a significant part of her life to her career at the former Armco Steel Company, where she retired with pride. Her professional journey was only one aspect of her vibrant life; however, her greatest joy came from her family. Nettie always loved spending time with her loved ones, creating moments that would be cherished for generations to come.

In her spare time, Nettie found happiness working outside in her yard, where her passion for landscaping and growing flowers flourished. She also enjoyed the excitement of visiting casinos and indulging in many thrilling rounds of Bingo—activities that brought her joy and a bit of thrill to her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Miller of New Philadelphia; her son Gary (Betty Lou) Miller of Gratis, Ohio; a grandson, Joey Miller; three great grandchildren, Rylan, Bradyn and Maddie and two sisters, Della Duris and Mabel Brandt.

In addition to her parents, Nettie was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Brett Miller and Sabrina Bourne; four sisters, Rose, Christina, Nellie, Flo and four brothers, Earl, Walter, John and Henry.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation care will be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and no public services are to be scheduled.
