Nellie Sherrets

Nellie E. Sherrets, 99, of New Philadelphia, passed away on April 17, 2018 in Community Hospice Truman House at New Philadelphia.

Born on a farm north of Mineral City on May 31, 1918, Nellie was a daughter of the late Clyde and Sadie (Stuber) Brick.

She and her late husband, Ralph W. Sherrets, were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Marlene, of the home.

Nellie and Marlene served faithfully at Jerusalem Church in the church nursery and kitchen for more than 40 years. Nellie also loved to work the farm, watch birds, and was excellent at making pear butter and ham loaf. She also helped at the voting polls during elections.

In addition to Marlene, Nellie will be deeply missed by her special grandchildren, Jennifer Sherrets and Justin (Amy) Sherrets, both of Dover; great-grandchildren, Beau, Grace, and Keaton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, three brothers, one sister, and several nieces and nephews preceded Nellie in passing.

A public graveside service will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2 PM in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
