Nedra Mae McCann

Nedra Mae McCann, 84, of New Philadelphia, passed away early Saturday morning, December 29, 2007 in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.Born May 8, 1923 at Harrison County, Ohio, Nedra was the daughter of the late Bert and Blanche (Busby) Myers.Nedra graduated from Jewett High School in 1941. At the Cadiz Street Fair, she met her future husband, Robert Eugene McCann, and the couple wed on August 16, 1941. They shared 52 years of marriage prior to Robert’s passing on November 24, 1993.She was retired from the former Hart’s Department Store where she worked for twenty years. Nedra was also a member of Broadway United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia.Nedra enjoyed crocheting, quilting and playing her organ. And later in life, she found great joy in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jack Foltz of New Philadelphia; a granddaughter, Nicole Sankey; step grandchildren, Jack Foltz Jr, Tom (Wendy) Foltz, Mike (Andrea) Foltz and Carol Nealey; step great grandchildren, Chris, Kassidy, Reilly and Marshel Foltz and Gavin and Marissa Nealey; a brother, Bob Myers; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Doris McCann and numerous nieces and nephews.Nedra was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; a son, Larry Eugene McCann; a sister and brother-in-law, Venus and Blair Amos; two brothers and their wives, Jay and Emma Myers and Edward and Emma Myers and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eunice and Glen Wardell.Family and friends may call on Wednesday, January 2, 2007 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Nedra’s life will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don Snow officiating. Burial will follow in Perrysville Cemetery. Following the burial, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.The family requests that contributions be made in Nedra’s memory to Broadway United Methodist Church, 120 Church Street SE, New Philadelphia, OH and/or to the Parkinson’s Disease Association, 710 West 168th Street, New York, NY 10032.
