Nancy Ann Kurtz

 Nancy Ann (Walker) Kurtz, age 90, of Palm Harbor, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Born November 25, 1933, Nancy was the first of three children of Niles and Freda Walker from New Philadelphia, Ohio. In high school, Nancy played the coronet in the New Philadelphia High School marching band and helped on the family farm. Nancy also began a nursing apprenticeship with a local doctor. This eventually led to her earning a nursing degree at Mt. Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio. Her accomplished career in nursing included such positions as surgical nurse, head nurse in OBGYN, pediatric nurse, camp nurse and home health care nurse.

On November 27, 1954, Nancy married Kenneth D. Kurtz of Dover, Ohio. Over the next 61 years, and residing in multiple states, Ken and Nancy would raise a family and achieve success in their careers. Upon retiring, they enjoyed traveling and spending time at their homes in Palm Harbor, Florida and the Adirondacks in NY. 

Nancy was a lover of dogs, especially poodles, of which she had many and are still held in fond memory by her family and grandchildren today.

Nancy is survived by her daughters Debra (Michael) McLeod, Victoria (Michael) Stiff, son Kenneth D. Kurtz, grandchildren Eric McLeod, Jeffrey McLeod, Michael Stiff, Heather Stiff, Stephanie Kurtz and Kevin Kurtz. Also surviving are sister Shirley (Walker) Shepherd and brother Niles Walker.

Nancy is preceded in death by her daughter Corinne Ann Kurtz, husband Kenneth D. Kurtz, and her parents.

Inurnment will be August 28 at 10:30 Am in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover. The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia has been entrusted with her service arrangements.
