Myrtle E. Walker, 84, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully in Amberwood Manor under the care of Lifecare Hospice, Wednesday, April 10, 2024, following a period of declining health.
Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on August 30, 1939, Myrtle was a daughter to the late Lester and Margaret (Kane) McRobie.
Myrtle married Terry Lee Walker and they enjoyed many years of marriage before his passing in October of 2004. She loved gardening and spending time with animals. Throughout her life she had many dogs and cats as pets. She is best known for her love for cleaning. She loved to run the sweeper through the house. Her greatest love was being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren. Myrtle retired from Raintree Dry Cleaners.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Sliverthorn of New Philadelphia, Holly (Jacque Fisher) Swihart of Bolivar, Chuck Walker of New Philadelphia, and Matt Walker of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Drew (Kerri) Sliverthorn, Jory (Emily) Swihart, Justin (Cassie) Swihart, and Sierria Walker; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Kota, Brodie, Kellen, Jack, Aspen, and Tabitha; and brother, Lester “Junior” McRobie.
In addition to her parents and husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by her three sisters, Arlene Parson, Wanda Paris, and Janet Everhart.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation care is to be provided by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. There are no services planned at this time.
