Myrtle L. Bethos, 90, of Hennis Care Center at Dover and formerly of New York, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, September 7, 2013 following a period of declining health.
Born in Newton, Massachusetts on November 29, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Victor B. and Cenary (Earnest) Studwell.
After completing her formal education, Myrtle used her artistic talents and education to pursue a career in the textile industry in New York City. She was a gifted artist, designing patterns for material as well as oil painting. She was also a devoted member of her church throughout her lifetime.
Myrtle is survived by her niece, Louise (Ken) Hicks of New Philadelphia; her sister, Chloe Studwell of Dover; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, John Bethos; her brother, Everett Studwell; and her nephew, Victor Studwell.
A graveside service will be held at Prince of Peace Cemetery in Connecticut on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 10 a.m.
