Myrtle Ann Faniola

February 6, 1919 — May 25, 2009

Myrtle Ann Faniola, age 90 of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia passed away Monday morning, May 25, 2009 in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover following a period of declining health.Born in Newport, O. on February 6, 1919, she is a daughter of the late Walter and Emma Jane (Johnson) Starr. Myrtle was raised in Midvale and also attended school there.Reading, dancing and dining out were just a few of the activities that Myrtle enjoyed. She also had very fond memories of the various trips and shopping excursions with her daughters. Myrtle also cherished her grandchildren and the time spent with them.Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Joseph Faniola and her companion of 28 years, Raymond Besozzi.She is survived by her daughters, Shirley (William) Jones of Homosassa, Florida, Carol Pachis of New Philadelphia, Beverly (David) Nilsen of Lancaster, and Elva Scott of San Ramon, California; her sons, John Smith and his companion Jackie of New Philadelphia, Carl Smith and his companion Janet of Uhrichsville, Ray (Bev) Smith of Dover, and Edward (Carol) Conklin of Tennessee; her sister, Mary Long of Uhrichsville; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren and Raymond’s son Woody Besozzi of Tennessee and his daughter Jennifer (John) Barnes, a son, Michael Besozzi and his grandchildren.Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Myrtle’s life will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel on Thursday, May 28 beginning at 1 p.m. with The Revs. Michael Lowry and Edwin Shriver officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia. A meal will be shared in the Geib Family Center, located adjacent to the funeral home, following the burial.Contributions may be made in Myrtle’s memory to St. John’s United Church of Christ, 409 North Wooster Avenue, Dover, OH 44622 or to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622
