Morris Gene Tolotti

Morris Gene “Moe” Tolotti, age 70, of Minerva died peacefully, Wednesday, January 22, 2014, while in the care of Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia.

A son of the late Emanuel and Annie (Page) Tolotti, Moe was born at Dover Ohio on February 7, 1943. He attended school at Pasco County, Florida and entered into the United States Army in 1960.

For a number of years, he was employed by the city of New Philadelphia where he worked for the Street Department, Sanitation Department and the City Garage Body Shop.

Moe’s civic activity included memberships in the VFW and the Am Vets locally; and was also involved with the Marine Corps League and the VFW while living in Florida.

In his free time he enjoyed being with his family, hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing golf.

He is survived by his family which includes his wife, the former Phyllis Poole, whom he married on May 31, 2003 at Sherrodsville, Ohio; children, Cathy Whitten, Betty (Ralph) Grasselli, Jeff Tolotti, and Bobbie Copeland all of New Philadelphia; step-children, William “Hank” Haynes of Canton, Joseph “Frank” Haynes of Minerva and LaRee (Harry) Shine of Malvern; siblings, Gloria (Bob) Pendland of Newport Richey, Florida, Jim Tolotti of Port Richy, Florida, Shirley Tolotti of Newport Richey, Florida, and Larry (Nancy) Tolotti of Dover.

Completing the family are 17 grandchildren, numerous great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Moe was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Tolotti.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, January 25, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A memorial service led by Chaplain Duane Quesenberry will be held in the Dover Funeral Center on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Following the service a time of food and fellowship will be shared in the funeral center’s Hospitality Room.
