Mitch Morber

October 27, 1959 — February 25, 2011

Mitch Morber, age 51, of New Philadelphia, passed away early Friday morning, February 25, 2011 in Union Hospital at Dover, following a sudden illness. Born at Dennison, October 27, 1959, he was a son of the late Frank John and Kay Frances Fantin Morber.While Mitch was still a teenager, the family relocated to New York, and in 1981, Mitch returned to the Tuscarawas Valley with a young family of his own. He’ll be remembered by his family and friends for his enjoyment of football, golf and Playstation. He previously worked for Marlite, and for a number of years, managed the former Swifty gas station at Dover before going to work at the Virginia Sterling Furniture Company at Midvale. Mitch leaves behind his wife of nearly three years, Tammy Morber, of New Philadelphia, as well as five children; Kelly Morber of New Philadelphia, Crissy Murphy of Uhrichsville, Mitch Morber Jr., Micael Meese and Skylar Morber, all of New Philadelphia. His step-children also include Brittany Hocken, Brandi Hillegass, and Anthony Hillegass all of Pennsylvania. He’ll be sadly missed by his grandchildren Lauryn and Wyatt Murphy of Uhrichsville, Kierstyn Baker and Ethan Bland, all of New Philadelphia. Step-grandchildren also include Kayla, Dylan, Riley Hillegass, Cayden Hillegass, and Jaylynn Medvetz. A sister, Carrie (husband, Tom) Bold of Olean, New York, also survives. An extended family that includes his father and mother in law, Bill and Gail Parrish of Dennsion, a sister-in-law, Brenda (Devan) Wright of Uhrichsville, and brothers-in-law, Mike (Andrea) Parrish and Bubba Parrish both of Dennison, Brian Parrish of Dayton, Ohio, and Billy (Bobbi Jo) Western of Uhrichsville completes the family. In addition to his parents, Mitch is preceded in death by his sister Alicia Bevans, and his step-father, Jack Carpenter. Friends are invited to call Wednesday, March 2, from 2-3 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, where Pastor Brian Flood will lead a memorial service for Mitch at 3PM.
