Minnie Rose Burson, 85, of New Philadelphia, died February 11, 2007, in Hennis Care Center at Dover, Ohio.A daughter of the late, Maximo and Bertha Basiletti, Minnie was born on June 22, 1921 in Possum Hollow. Minnie was one of 18 children. In 1945 she worked at Reeves Mill. Minnie was known for her cooking and was the cook at many area restaurants for over forty years including: the New Phila Elks, Michael’s Restaurant, Colonial Pitcher, and retired from The Mill Restaurant in 1997.Minnie was a member of the Faternal Order of the Eagles of both New Philadelphia and Dover, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of New Philadelphia and the Women of the Moose in New Philadelphia.In 1962, Minnie was presented Mother of the Year in the Dover New Philadelphia Twin’s Club.She is survived by her twin daughters, Carol (Douglas) Rieger of New Philadelphia, Cherl (Jeffery) George of Canton, Ohio; twin sons, Kim Burson of Canton, Ohio, Tim (Patty) Burson of New Philadelphia; and son, Jeffery (Peggy) Burson of New Philadelphia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sibna Burson of Germany, Daniel (Laura Young fiancé) Burson of New Philadelphia, Rachel Burson of Pensacola, Florida, Zackary Rieger of New Philadelphia; brothers, Clarence (Maxine) Basiletti, Emmett Basiletti, Lester Basiletti; sisters, Mary Destifani-Vik, Betty (Ward) Hicks, Ramona “Pat” (James) Weber; many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Burson; eight brothers and three sisters.Friends are invited to call Wednesday, February 14, 2007 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.A funeral service will be led by Dr. Rev. Steven R. Bailey and Rev. Marlene Peterson on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert Geib Funeral Chapel at New Philadelphia. Interment will follow in the Dover Burial Park.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4815 Munson Street N.W., Canton, Ohio 44718.
