Millie Morris â?? Perkins, age 85, of Dover, and formerly of Barnesville, Uhrichsville, and New Philadelphia, died peacefully early Friday morning, May 9, 2008, in Aultman Hospital at Canton. Born at Holloway, Ohio, March 14, 1923, she was a daughter of the late William McKinley Condron and his wife Lucille M. Davis Condron. Millie graduated from Holloway High School in 1940 and attended business college. During World War II, Millie worked as a government inspector at the former Reeves Mill, supervising the construction of ammunition boxes. For more than fifty years, Millie worked as a bookkeeper, first with Rea & Associates and later for Larkin Contractors. When not at work, Millie could be found enjoying quilting, and collecting items of interest. She enjoyed watching college an professional basketball, as well as girls high school volleyball.On July 10, 1943, Millie married John “Jack” Morris. They celebrated forty years of marriage prior to his death on January 18, 1984. Together they reared a family that includes two sons, John A. (Sharon) Morris of Gahanna, Ohio, and Rick Morris of Canton. She’ll be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Reby (Jim) Lasure of Waynesville, Missouri, Ricky Morris of Stow, Ohio, and Jason (Michelle) Morris of St. Augustine, Florida. Three great-grandchildren, Jake Lasure, Ryan and Sofia Morris, complete the family. In 1992, Millie married Stowell Perkins and together the couple observed five anniversaries prior to his death in 1997. In addition to her parents and husbands, Millie is preceded in death by her brother, Carl Condron. Friends are invited to call Monday, May 12, from 5PM-8PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia, and one hour prior to services Tuesday afternoon, from 1-2PM. The Rev. Dr. Steven R. Bailey will lead a celebration of Millie’s life Tuesday afternoon at 2PM in the funeral home’s chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Those unable to attend are invited to share memories and condolences with the family by visiting the funeral home’s website.
