Mildred Stemple Mears Pearch, age 95, of New Philadelphia, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 04, 2008, in New Dawn Health Care Center at Dover.Born October 27, 1913, at New Philadelphia, Mildred was a daughter of the late Oliver and Irene (Phillips) Stemple. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by brothers W.E. Stemple, David Stemple, Kenny Stemple, and Dale Stemple; a sister, Pat Law; Husbands, Edward Mears and Leonard Pearch; a daughter, Barbara Mears Miller; and a great-grandson, Anthony Morgan.Mildred is survived by a brother, Robert Stemple; a daughter, Melanie Mears Roll, husband Fred; two sons, Clyde Pearch, wife Rebecca, and Tom Pearch, wife Anita.Seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren complete the family.Mildred spent 95 years in New Philadelphia and loved Tuscarawas County and its history. Additionally, Mildred was an active member of the Tuscarawas County Historical Society for 28 years.While most would say that caring for her family was her primary occupation, Mildred held employment at the former Woolworth Company located in downtown New Philadlephia as well as the former Goshen Dairy. Mildred also enjoyed the many people she encountered as a sales representative for Tupperware.In honoring Mildred’s wishes the family will hold private services in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadlephia with burial to take place in the East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.In tribute of Mildred’s commitment to Tuscarawas County’s history, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Tuscarawas County Historical Society, PO Box, 462, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
