Mildred N Ricklic

Mildred N. “Pete” Ricklic, age 74, of New Philadelphia passed away surrounded by her loving family in the Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia on Friday morning, June 29, 2012 following a period of declining health.

Born in New Philadelphia on July 17, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Isaac E. and Nellie A. (Taylor) Morrison. After graduating from Midvale High School, Mildred married her husband, Donald J.”Joey” Ricklic, on July 4, 1962. This July they would have celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Mildred was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Martha (companion, Scott Boreman) Stephens and Charlotte (companion, Mike Denny) Mahaffey both of New Philadelphia, Lauri (John) Zampino of Chardon, O., Jennifer (Joe) Price of Dover, David (Karen) Ricklic of Stone Creek; Joseph Ricklic of New Philadelphia; sisters, Hazel (Larry) Carpenter of North Salem, O., Nina (Jim)Haney of Uhrichsville, Hilda (Ron) Harding of Smithville, O. and Izena (Dale) Couch of New Philadelphia; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her siblings, Bob Morrison, Sivila Gnagy, Mary Lou Elliott, Theresa Barker, Betty Romig, Ruthie Belknap, and two infant brothers who passed away at birth.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 12 to 2 p.m. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Church at 2 p.m . Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia.

Friends are invited to St. Ambrose Hall following the committal service where a meal will be shared.
