Mildred Iola Maurer Markley, 89, of Dover, died Thursday, June 5, 2008 in the Park Village Health Care and Assisted Living Center, one day before her ninetieth birthday following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late John and Catherine Snyder Maurer, Mildred was born on June 6, 1918, near Stone Creek, Ohio and was a life resident of the area. She enjoyed doing embroidery.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Markley; sisters, Dorothy Stone, Selma Harrold and Beulah Eiler and her brothers, Wilbert, Harold, Alvin “Dick”, Lloyd and Edwin Maurer.Mildred is survived by her son, Robert E. Markley, of Gnadenhutten; a sister, Goldie Hill, of Dover; a special friend of many years, Vickie Garbrandt, of New Philadelphia and nieces and nephews.Friends and family are invited to visitation on Monday, June 9, 2008, from 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory of New Philadelphia where Pastor Brian Flood of the Faith Christian Church will lead a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
