Michelle Lynn Orr

Michelle Lynn Orr, 43, loving mother, daughter and friend, passed away unexpectedly from injuries that she sustained in a motorcycle accident.  

Born at Dover, Michelle was the daughter of, and is survived by, her father, Gary R. Orr of Barnhill and her mother and step-father, Dora D. (Greene) and Karl Whyde of New Philadelphia. A 1998 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and Buckeye Career Center at New Philadelphia, Michelle was also a former member of the New Philadelphia Marching Quaker Band. Michelle later attended both Brown-Mackie College and Kent State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

Michelle was employed as a Branch Office Manager for Darling Ingredients at Dundee and also attended God’s Family Church at Dover where she was also a member of the church’s women’s group. Michelle will always be remembered as a loving daughter, mother and a “new” grandmother who possessed the kindest and most generous spirit. She had an infectious smile and a laugh that you would always remember. Michelle was always extremely welcoming to anyone that she met and a very special person to all that knew her. She will also be remembered by her family as the “Family Baker” who also enjoyed making holiday dinners for her family and her friends.

In addition to her parents, Michelle is survived by her children, Hunter Taylor Roth and her fiancée Kiersty Correll of Navarre, Charles Roth of New Philadelphia, Danielle Bower and her fiancée Dakota Whitmer of Dennison and Austin Fornash and his companion Jenna Cavanaugh of Dover; her “son by choice”, Skyler Lee Byers of Columbus; her beloved “Fur Baby” Fiona Eldean Byers; her granddaughter, Alexandria Jade Whitmer and was anticipating the arrival of her grandson, Mikah Fornash; her maternal grandfather, Eugene Greene; her best friend in life, Amanda Runyon of Dover and numerous family and friends.

Michelle was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Elda Greene and her paternal grandparents, Russell and Ethel Orr.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 1 to 3 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where a service celebrating Michelle’s life will begin at 3 PM with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating. Following the service and in keeping with Michelle’s wishes, cremation care will be provided through the care of the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.
