Michael William Gambs

Michael William Gambs, 61, of New Philadelphia and formerly of Wainwright, passed away in the Community Hospice Truman House on Saturday morning, November 19, 2016 following a period of declining health.

Born in Mio, Michigan on October 7, 1955, he was the son of the late William Gambs and Joanne (Garrett) Butler. After graduating from Indian Valley South High School, he was employed for a variety of companies, most recently Schoenbrunn Landscaping. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He was also a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Marla, whom he wed on July 26, 2002; his children, Bryan (Hollie) Gambs of Dennison, Michelle (Jay) Koucher of Gnadenhutten, and Michael W. Gambs II of Mansfield; his brother, Ron Gambs of Midvale; his step-daughter, Autum Steinbach of New Philadelphia; numerous grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Carter Gambs; and his sister, Crystal Lippencott.

Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory in Dover. Tom Gallagher will officiate a memorial service at a later date.
