Michael Wenger

Michael Allen Wenger, 57, of Dover passed away while in the care of Community Hospice House on December 21, 2014 following a lengthy illness.

Born November 3, 1957 at Union Hospital in Dover, Mike is the son of Glenn Wenger of Dover and the late Betty (Ott) Wenger.

Mike was a 1976 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, and then attended Stark State College for further training as an electrician, graduating in 1990. Mike worked for 25 years with the Timken Company. He was a long time electrician during his tenure with the firm and eventually worked his way to become a Senior Electrical Analyst for the Timken Technology Center.

Mike was known to be a motorcycle enthusiast who loved the outdoors, and especially working with his hands. Above all, Mike’s greatest joys in life were spending time with his family, and caring for his dog, Osker.

Mike will be deeply missed by his father; wife, the former Marcia Bon, whom he married on September 13, 1998; children, Emma Wenger of the home, and Seth Swegheimer and Parker (Michelle) Swegheimer all of New Philadelphia; a grandson, Logan Swegheimer; a brother, Randy (Maureen) Wenger of Dover; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and life-long friends.

In addition to his mother, Mike was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Margie Bon.

The family will greet guests on Saturday, December 27 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where a service celebrating Mike’s life will be led by Mr. John Vandervort will begin at 4:00pm. All are invited to join in a time of food and fellowship in the Geib Family Center immediately following the service.
