Michael Ray “Mick” Derrow, 46, of Dover, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his home.
A son of Garry J. Derrow of Dover and Christina (Smitley) Derrow of Navarre, Mick was born August 27, 1973 at Massillon, Ohio.
Mick graduated from Fairless High School in 1991. Then, on his 18th birthday, he enlisted with the United States Navy which he made a career. During his time in the Navy, Mick served two tours in Iraq and eventually retired in 2013.
He was an avid hunter and was a lifetime member of the American Legion as well as a member of Shady Rest Army-Navy Garrison.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Molly (Errington) Derrow; his step-son, Cody Errington; a sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Jeff Ping and their son, Tyler and a brother and sister-in-law, Dustin and Dana Derrow and their children, Katie and Knox.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond “Poppy” Smitley.
In keeping with Mick’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.
