Michael H. “Bozo” Yost, 59, of New Philadelphia, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning, December 26, 2009 at his home.A son of the late Roy and Florence (Collar) Yost, Michael was born April 30, 1950 at Dover, Ohio.At the age of 17, Bozo enlisted with the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was employed with Republic Waste at Massillon as a truck driver and was a lifetime member of the New Philadelphia V.F.W. Post #1445. Bozo was an avid reader and especially enjoyed westerns.He is survived by his loving wife, Judie (Huff) Yost whom he married on May 7, 1994; a daughter, Molly Hightower of Texas; two step daughters, Beth (Rick) Varnes of Dover and Julie Kimble of New Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Abby Varnes, Courtney and Joshua Myers, Cheyenne Hightower and Madison Varnes; one great grandchild; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Dawn (Dwayne) Engle of Indiana and a brother, Joe (Sue) Yost of Uniontown, Ohio.Completing the family is his mother-in-law, Elsie Huff of New Philadelphia and five brothers-in-law, William (Debbie) Huff of New Philadelphia, Donald (Judy) Huff of Dennison, Ronnie (Shelly) Huff of Port Washington, John (Karen) Huff of Uhrichsville and Dan (Lisa) Huff of New Philadelphia.Bozo was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Felix and Carl Yost and his father-in-law, Roland Huff.The family will receive guests on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Michael’s life will follow at 6 p.m. in the funeral home with his cousin, Esther Beam officiating. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow and inurnment will be held at a later date in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Michael Yost Memorial Fund c/o Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union, 119 Fillmore Avenue, Dover, OH 44622.
