Michael C. Malenich

Michael C. Malenich, 81, of Bolivar, passed away April 16, 2016 in Hennis Care Center at Bolivar following a period of declining health.

Born in McDonald, Pennsylvania on October 8, 1934, he was the son of the late Michael Peter and Helen (Lukasiewicz) Malenich.

After graduating from McDonald High School, Michael worked for more than 45 years with Witco as an oil field supervisor.

On August 15, 1964 he married his lifelong companion and friend, the former Bonny Burton Black at St. Alphonsus Church in McDonald, PA. His faith has been nurtured at the Church of the Holy Trinity for many years.

Michael was a 20-year member of the Fenton Collectors Club, and a life member of both the McDonald Volunteer Fire Department and the SNPJ Lodge #6 in Sygan, Pennsylvania.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Bonny of Bolivar; his children, Michael (Denise) Malenich of Venetia, PA, Robert (Lula) Malenich of Bridgeport, WV, Susan (Scott) Lanzalaco of Chester NY, and Jason (Karen) Malenich of Pittsburgh, PA; his grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, Lindsay, Phillip, Luke, Alexandra, Luke, Jack Michael, Tesia, and James; and his brothers, James Malenich of Pittsburgh, PA, and Paul Malenich of McDonald, PA; and numerous nephews.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Jerome Malenich.

Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Tuesday from 1-3 and 6 -8p.m. with a Christian Wake Service commencing at 7:45 p.m. Father Jonathan Kathenge will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Holy Trinity on Wednesday at 10 am with visitation one hour prior in the church. Burial will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery.
