Michael Allen Torch, 53, of Dennison, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at his home following a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
A son of Hazel (Davis) Torch and the late Guy Torch Sr., Mike was born November 13, 1959 at Dennison, Ohio.
Mike was a graduate of Claymont High School and a dedicated employee of the Ohio Department of Transportation where he worked as a concrete coordinator.
He will be remembered as being a quiet and proud man who dearly loved his wife and family. He was passionate about his land at his home where he spent much of his time hiking, gardening and just being outdoors.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his loving wife, Anna Lee (Hunter) Torch whom he married on March 17, 1989; two children, Topaz (Mike) Tolloti of North Canton and Kenneth (Brandy) Roberts of Dover; a grandchild, Delaney Roberts; a great grandchild, Brooklyn Roberts; a sister, Glenda (Leroy) Burke of Dennison; three brothers, Guy Torch Jr. of Dennison, James Torch and Steven Torch both of West Lafayette; a niece, Jessica (Ty) Young of Uhrichsville; two nephews, Kevin (Jennifer Moss) Burke of Dover and Keith (Becca) Burke of Dundee; two great nephews; a great niece and a dear lifelong friend, Ronald Quillen of New Philadelphia.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. Following the service a memorial reception will be held in the Hospitality Room in the funeral home.
