Michael A. Milarcik

Michael A. Milarck, of New Philadelphia, a local CPA, farmer, and retired commercial airline pilot, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, at the age of 63, following a lengthy battle with cancer.Mike’s many passions included farming, The Ohio State Buckeyes, restoring classic cars, motorcycling and boating. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He will be deeply missed by many.Mike is survived by a son, M. Allen (Dana) Milarcik of New Philadelphia; mother, Mary Smokovich Milarcik of Tippecanoe; grandchildren, Megan and Melissa Milarcik of New Philadelphia and long time love, Carol L. Dawson of New Philadelphia.A brother, Donald (Beverly) Milarcik; two sisters, Charlotte Milarcik Anderson and Cynthia (Gene) Maleski; a sister-in-law, Opal Milarcik; and twelve nieces and nephews complete the family.Mr. Milarcik was preceded in death by his father, Andrew S. Milarcik; and a brother Andrew J. “Atch” Milarcik.In keeping with Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 26, 2008, from 10:00 AM â?? 12:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Following visitation, a service celebrating Mike’s life will be led by Pastor Doug Mallernee beginning at noon. Inurnment will take place in Greenmont Union Cemetery at Freeport, Ohio. Following the inurnment, the family would like to invite guests to join them for a time of food and fellowship in the Freeport Firehouse at Freeport.Those unable to attend may share personal condolences with the family by visiting the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mike’s name may be sent to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622.
