Mayme Joyce Herron, 81, of Dover, died Saturday, September 24, 2005 at Union Hospital in Dover.A daughter of the late George and Ddy (McConnell) Dean, Mayme was born March 22, 1924 in Wadsworth, Ohio.Mayme, who retired from Union Hospital as a clerk in the shipping and receiving department, was a member of the Somerdale Ladies Aid. She also enjoyed playing cards in which she was a member of a card group.She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Murphy of Dover; one son, John (Linda) Frazee; four grandchildren, Tracy (Doug) Carpenter, Leslie (Troy) Morris, John (Carolyn) Frazee and Jamie Frazee; six great-granchildren, Tyler Budde, Jessica Frazee, Drezden Frazee, Tori Frazee, Emily Morris, Ethan Morris and David Carpernter; two sisters, Janis (Ed) Slutz of Strasburg and Ruth (Ted) Lindsay of Thonotosassa, Florida; and one brother, Dan (Marge) Dean of Mineral City.Mayme was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Charles Frazee; her second husband, John Herron; three sisters, Elsie Evans, Flo Powell and Doris Kellner; and one brother, Don Dean.In keeping with Mayme’s wishes, cremation will take place at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. A memorial service celebrating Mayme’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Pastor Pete Price and Pastor Clarence Miller officiating. Following the memorial service, the family will receive friends during a luncheon at the Geib Family Center in New Philadelphia.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622.
