Maxine Virginia Reiss

Maxine Virginia Reiss, age 94 of Dover died Thursday, September 17, 2015 in New Dawn Retirement Center.

A daughter of the late Ralph and Edna Thompson Nash, Maxine was born in her family’s home at Harrison County on April 30, 1921.

Following her graduation from Cadiz High School, Maxine worked for many years as a bank teller with Citizen Savings and Loan and ultimately retired from the former Reeves Bank. She was an active member of Broadway United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia where she was involved with the Women’s Group, Esther Circle. She loved caring for her family and cooking. In her free time, she enjoyed needle work projects, sewing, and gardening.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Elizabeth) Fulton of Dover; two grandsons, Aaron (Heather) Fulton and Adam (Wynonna) Fulton, both of New Philadelphia; great-grandchildren, Garron Fawcett and Tanner Fulton; a sister, Corinne (Lee) McGovern of Canton; a sister-in-law, Paula (Roger) Jones of Centerville, and her nieces and nephews, Patty Grimes, Kelly Mallen, Brian McGovern, Michael Jones and Susan Jones.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Cucchiara, her first husband, Harry L. Fulton and her second husband, Richard H. Reiss.

The family will greet guests on Monday, September, 21, 2015 from 10-11 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where Pastor Mick Foster will lead a service celebrating Maxine’s life beginning at 11 AM. A meal and fellowship will follow in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the New Philadelphia funeral home. Private inurnment will follow at a later date.
