Maxine Ruth Gartrell

Maxine Ruth Gartrell, 97, of Upland, California, died April 3, 2007.A daughter of the late Dr. John Dells Aldridge, known as the “Prince of Physicians and Surgeons” and founder of the first City View Hospital in Sherrodsville, Ohio, and Iva Aldridge, Maxine was born on September 13, 1909, in Ohio and graduated from Ohio University with a nursing degree.In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Wayne Gartrell and her son, Upton Dells Gartrell.She is survived by her grandchildren and daughter-in-law.Per her wishes, there will be no public services observed and Maxine will be laid to rest beside her family in the Roxford United Methodist Church Cemetery.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, P.O.
