Maxine J. Baer

Maxine Joan Baer, 92, of Dennison, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024 surrounded by her loving family following a short battle with cancer.

Born in New Philadelphia on April 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Silvio and Katherine Marie (Tollotti) Zorzi. 

On July 26, 1952, Maxine married the love of her life, Richard A. Baer, Sr. They celebrated more than 71 years of marriage prior to his passing on November 16, 2023.

Maxine was a longtime member of Roxford Methodist Church in Dennison where she sang in the choir and taught Vacation Bible School. She was also an award-winning pie baker, receiving numerous trophies at the Tuscarawas County Fair. Most importantly, Maxine was a loving, supportive and involved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. 

Maxine is survived by four children: Linda (Douglas) Karr of Dennison, Carla Henry of Midvale, Cathy (Ronald) Wilson of Dennison, and Richard A. Baer, Jr. of Midvale; six grandchildren, Christopher (Michelle) Karr, Alicia (William) Pusser, Joshua (Correy) Henry, Brandi (Will) Henry, Kadi (Alex) Incarnato, and Kelssi (Ryan) Wilson; a sister-in-law, Janice Hall of Columbus; and 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Jonah Pusser; and sister, Ellen Roseberry

Visitation will be held Monday, August 5, 2024 from 12:30-1:30 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home at New Philadelphia. A funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM with Brother Jim Manbeck officiating. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens.
