Max Daniel McGuire

Max Daniel McGuire, 23, of New Philadelphia, died Monday, September 19, 2011 following a tragic accident at his home.A son of Mary McGuire of New Philadelphia and Mark Malavite of Canton, Max was born in Doctors Hospital at Massillon, Ohio on August 16, 1988.Max was an employee at Riverfront Antique Mall at New Philadelphia; a place he had fond memories of visiting as a child with his late grandfather, Daniel McGuire. He recently received his GED.He was a Civil War enthusiast and enjoyed attending reenactments and collecting various artifacts.Max was a loving father and, in addition to his parents, he is survived by his three children, Katy, Daniel and Kiana McGuire. He was also expecting the birth of his fourth child, Max McGuire II.Also surviving are his fiancé, Tosha Clark of New Philadelphia; siblings, Megan McGuire of Dover, Jack Baugh of New Philadelphia and Missy Malavite of Canton; a step sister, Nikki Pomposelli of Florida; his grandmother, Audrey Malavite of Canton; his grandfather, Gus Malavite Sr. of Canton; his uncles, Larry (Kristine) Moesle, Gus Malavite Jr. and Kevin Malavite all of Canton; a niece, Chloe Brindley; a special family friend, James Matusich and numerous dear friends.Max was preceded in death by his grandparents, Daniel and Judith McGuire.Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia with Father Jeff Coning celebrating. Cremation will take place following services through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
