Matthew R. Stein, 34, of New Philadelphia, died suddenly of a heart attack, Friday, August 12, 2005 at Med Central Hospital in Mansfield, Ohio.A son of Ronald and Sylvia (Horsfall) Stein, Matthew was born December 29, 1970 in Dover, Ohio.Matthew, who was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, was a bridge superintendent for Shelly & Sands Construction Company of Zanesville. He was an avid outdoorsman in which he had a passion for coon hunting.Matthew will be greatly missed by his wife and family as well as the many others whose lives he touched over the years.He is survived by his parents; his loving wife, Lori (Weaver) Stein, whom he married July 3, 1991; two sons, Tucker and Tyler Stein of the home; maternal grandmother, Mary Horsfall of New Philadelphia; brothers, Tim (Marcy) Stein of New Philadelphia, Jeff (Diane) Stein of Westerville, Ohio and Scott (Amy) Stein of New Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.Matthew was preceded in death by one son, Bo Stein; his paternal grandparents, Harold Stein and Jane Stein Carlisle; and maternal grandfather, Harold Horsfall.The family will receive friends on Monday, August 15, 2005 from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Geib Funeral Center in Dover. A service celebrating Matthew’s life will be held at 8 p.m. on Monday at the Geib Funeral Center in Dover. A time of fellowship will be held on Monday at 3:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Philadelphia where a meal will be served.Those unable to attend may send a personal condolence to the family and sign the online guest registry by visiting the funeral home website.
