Mary Ruth Fischio

Mary Ruth Fischio, 80, of Newcomerstown and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, November 17, 2007 in Mercy Medical Center at Canton.Mary was born April 11, 1927 at Dover, Ohio. On June 11, 1950, she married the love of her life, Pasqualino “Pat” Fischio and together, they raised two children, Becky and Steve. The couple shared 47 years of marriage prior to Pat’s passing on December 6, 1997.She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia as well as a member of the Uhrichsville Moose Lodge. Mary enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo and she had a passion for collecting all sorts of Angel figurines.She is survived by her children, Becky (Edward) Berndt of Newcomerstown and Steve (Brooke) Fischio of Modesto, California; grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob, Ron, Barb, Heath, Kerri, Ryan, Jessica, Crystal, Eddy, Heather, Christy, Jennifer, Teri, Ed and Holly; 12 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many special brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.Mary was preceded in death by her husband Pat and a brother, John Pettite.Family and friends may call on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia with Monsignor George Schlegel officiating.
