Mary Pierce

Mary Pierce, 61, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in Union Hospital at Dover, Ohio after a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late Virgil Clifton and Francis Esther (Shackleford) Pierce, Mary was born December 13, 1955 at Portsmouth, Ohio.

Mary was a very kind hearted person, who loved to discuss politics. She was a strong and warm hearted mother and lived life to its fullest. Mary also had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with her cats, Joey and Tony.

She is survived by her daughter, Corinne (Ken) Linkous of Charlotte, North Carolina; three siblings, Michael Pierce, Kathy Nesland and Laura McLaughlin; her companion, Tom Conner; a special cousin, Mary Margaret Roberts, as well as many cousins, nieces, and one nephew.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 10 to 11am in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Mary’s life will follow at 11am in the funeral home’s chapel. A memorial service will take place at a later date in Portsmouth, Ohio.
