Mary P. Perkins, 55. of New Philadelphia passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, May 21, 2005 in her home following a long battle with diabetes.A daughter of the late Vernon and Dora Orino Gatchell, Mary was born September 16, 1949, in Dennison, Ohio.She was a 1967 graduate of St. Mary High School in Dennison, and had been employed at the Marlite Co. for 36 years, most recently as a customer service representative. Mary was known as a dedicated and hard worker who enjoyed helping others. Mary enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with her family and was always on the go, but what made her the person her family all knew was spending time with her grandchildren Lindsay, Andy, Kyle, Kayla, Blane, Brandon, and Bryce. Spending time with them meant the world to her. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia.She is survived by her husband, Larry, whom she married May 19, 1969; two sons, Greg Perkins, of New Philadelphia, and Chris Perkins and his fiancé Angel Carothers of New Philadelphia; sisters, Zetta (Jim) Blickensderfer, of Dennison and Esther (Chuck) Ivan, of Hartville; sister-in-laws, Sharon (Dan) Kwitchen and Joyce (Dennis) Riggle, both of Richmond, VA.; mother-in-law, Alyce Perkins, of New Philadelphia; aunt Esther Martinelli; seven grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be dearly missed by all.Mary was preceded in death by her parents.Visitation will be Tuesday, May 24, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia, with Christian Wake services at 7:45 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday May 25, 2005 at 1:10 p.m. prior to processing to Sacred Heart Church where Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. George Schlege1 at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park and a reception will follow in the Geib Family Center.orial contributions in memory of Mary may be made to the American Diabetes association. 1815 W.
