Mary (mackey) Gibbs

Mary D. (Mackey) Gibbs, 86, of Sherrodsville, OH, died Monday April 12, 2004.Born on February 24, 1918 at Plymouth, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Rocco and Mary Turson, and was raised in the Catholic faith.She lived her life caring and loving her family. She was a ray of sunshine for all those who knew her. She retired from Buehler’s Foods in 1984 and also worked at Bassetti’s Restaurant.She was preceded in death by her husbands John Charles Mackey in 1968 and Paul David Gibbs in 2002. Also preceeding her was a daughter, Marilyn Kay Mackey and sisters, Barbara Turson, Kate Fisher, Margaret Dalton, and Anne Hoover.Mary is survived by sons, Charles Mackey of New Philadelphia, David (Gloria) Mackey of New Philadelphia, Robert (Linda) Mackey of Sherrodsville, Richard Mackey of Dellroy, James (Cheryl) Mackey of New Philadelphia, Michael Mackey of Sherrodsville; daughters, Margaret (James) Maney of Dellroy, Patricia (James) Touse of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; two sisters, Sylvia Higgins and Rosalie Valentine, both of Mansfield; a brother, John Turson of Plymouth, Ohio; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.A funeral service celebrating Mary’s life will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2004, at 10:30 am in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Chapel. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 14 from 6 to 8 pm, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Following burial at Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia the family will host a reception at the Geib family center, adjacent to the funeral home.The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, PO Box 182039 Dept. 013 Columbus, OH 43218-2039
