Mary Lou Stokey, 53, of Dover, O., formerly of Brookpark, O., died Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a courageous battle with cancer.A daughter of the late Charles R. and Frances O’Connell Hollister, Mary Lou was born October 8, 1952, in Cleveland, O.She was a graduate of Rhodes High School, in Cleveland and was the former owner of E.D.M. Machine Sales, in Cleveland. She formerly worked for R & S Machine of Cleveland and was involved in various business concerns with her husband. She was Catholic in faith.Mary Lou was a friendly and welcoming individual who enjoyed gardening and making collectable teddy bears. She was a member of the New Philadelphia, O. Kiwanis club, and volunteered as an auxilliary member at Union Hospital in Dover, where she enjoyed making gift bags for children patients, and helping with the “chocolate love affair”. She especially enjoyed stock car racing and helping her husband and grandson compete in go-cart competition.She is survived by her husband and long time companion, Ronald E. Stokey; daughter, Susan A. (Joe) Lucas, of Brookpark, O.; son, William L. (Melanie) Schwark, jr., of Westlake, O.; step-children, Deborah L. (Jim) Reese, of N. Ohlmtead, O., Ronald E. (Diane) Stokey II, of Avon, O, and Mitzi Jo Sindelar, of Vermillion, O.; sisters, Kathleen Hollister, of Toledo, O, Sherry Hollister, of Cleveland, O. and Irene (Jeffrey) Turner, of Salt Lake City, Utah, brothers, Charles Hollister, jr., of Tx., and Thomas (Patricia) Hollister, of Old Brooklyn, O.; grandchildren, Riley Lucas, Breana Schwark, Chad Hudson and Jesse Fischbach; step grandchildren, Nicole Flemming, Amanda and Abagail Sindelar, Tyler and Grant Stokey and Jasmine Lucas; step great grandchildren, Taylor and Jordan Flemming, sister and brother-in-laws, Bill and Linda Stokey, of New Philadelphia, O., Janet and Jack Rhonemus, of Woodstock, Ga., Wallace and Betty Buran, of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Tim (Karen) Stokey, of Dover, O.; and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Tim Stokey.Visitation will be Thursday, October 27, 2005 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Geib Funeral Center, 5600 N. Wooster Ave. in Dover with a christian wake service at 5:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 28, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. in Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia, O. with Msgr.
