Mary Lou Fowles

Mary Lou Fowles, 67, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.

A daughter of the late Louis and A. Mary (Cardani) Caravati, Mary Lou was born July 18, 1948 in Dennison, Ohio.

Mary graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1966 and went on to work at General Electric in Dover for more than 35 years. She enjoyed staying active and helping in her community. She spent hours volunteering by serving food for Friends of the Homeless through Tuscarawas Central Catholic and helping with concessions and various activities for the New Philadelphia Marching Band. She also helped at West Elementary as a teacher’s aide. Mary was a member of Sacred Heart Church, where she was actively involved with Eucharistic Ministry, greeting church members, fish fries and various festivals.

Mary is survived by her husband of 43 years, Robert Fowles; two children, Susan (David) Fouts and William (Nicole) Fowles; four grandchildren, Kirsten, Caedmon and Jace Fouts and Wynn Fowles; two siblings, John (Connie) Caravati and Joanne (Terry) Kiser; five nieces and nephews, Lisa, David, Steve, Cody and Colt; two great nieces, Maddie and Camryn; her Aunt Elva and special family friends, Dustan and Dianne Fouts.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family will greet guests on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 2-5 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where a Christian Wake Service will begin at 4:45PM. An additional visitation will take place in the funeral home on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 11:30-12:15 PM. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 12:30 PM in the Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery at New Philadelphia. All are invited to share in a meal and fellowship in Tuscarawas Central Catholic cafeteria.
